• October 2024: Prof. Litman was ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists.

• September 2024: Nhat Tran passed his PhD proposal defense.

• July 2024: Nhat Tran and Diane Litman received a Best Paper Award nomination at the Educational Data Mining conference for Analyzing Large Language Models for Classroom Discussion Assessment.

• July 2024: Prof. Litman was elected a Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association.

• April 2024: Zhexiong Liu, Yang Zhong, and Mohamed Salem Elaraby passed their comprehensive examinations.

• February 2024: Two papers were accepted to LREC-COLING 2024: Yang Zhong and Mohamed Salem Elaraby’s ReflectSumm: A Benchmark for Course Reflection Summarization, and Nhat Tran’s Enhancing Knowledge Retrieval with Topic Modeling for Knowledge-Grounded Dialogue.

• January 2024: Prof. Litman served on a panel about generative AI and teaching.

• October 2023: Team ISABEL, including Yuya Asano, placed third in the Alexa TaskBot Challenge 2.

• Summer 2023: Mohamed Elaraby, Zhexiong Liu, and Yang Zhong completed internships at TikTok, Microsoft, and ETS, respectively.

• July 2023: Yuya Asano won the Best Poster Award at AIED 2023.

• Summer 2023: Zhexiong Liu and Diane Litman presented their poster on Predicting the Quality of Revisions in Argumentative Writing at the 18th BEA Workshop at ACL 2023.
